The Fitting Process

"I truly felt that you had my best interests in mind during the entire process... Your dedication and integrity were clearly evident."
-- Patrick Therrien

How We Custom Fit a Golfer

Clubs That Fit will fit clubs to you and your swing through a process that lasts several hours, and is spread over three or more visits. We ask you to fill out a questionnaire about you and your game, your golfing goals, and what you hope to achieve in the fitting. We usually ask you to do this ahead of time, and email it to us prior to your first appointment. This saves time in the first session. We measure your present clubs to understand what you are currently playing with, and how that may be affecting your game. We ask you further questions based on your questionnaire responses, and on what we find when we measure your clubs. We measure you for grip size and wrist-to-floor height as a starting point for further testing. We have you hit test clubs of varying lengths, weights and flexes while measuring and observing your swing speed, your tempo, your wrist cock release, your launch angle, your swing plane, your clubhead path, and other factors.

Based on our testing, we will recommend detailed clubs specifications for you, and build two or three pilot clubs for you to test on a subsequent visit. Only after we complete this test to confirm/adjust your specifications do we build your final set - one club at a time - to the exact specifications we recommend. You then return for a third visit to test the set. We also test and adjust for lie angle at this time. After you leave with your clubs, we follow up with you a few weeks later to ensure that they are working correctly for you, and to make adjustments if necessary.

This process is far more detailed, thorough and exhaustive than any fitting you can get from a major golf retailer. It results in a set that is more finely tuned to you and the way you swing a club and play the game. Only touring pros can get more thoroughly fit.
